The mission

The tools most people use to develop themselves and manage their lives — notes and vocabulary, health and money, the places they've been — are either owned by large companies with ad-based business models, or lock core functionality behind a paywall from day one. Luukza exists to offer a genuine alternative: apps that are private by design and don't treat your data as a product.

Every core feature is being built to work offline, without an account. That's the plan from day one, not a promise added later.

The person behind it

Luukza is built by a single developer, with ties to Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. There is no team, no agency, no investors. This is a genuine indie software project, built on nights and weekends alongside a day job.

That independence is a feature, not a limitation. No pressure to grow at any cost, no investors demanding engagement metrics, no incentive to sell your data. Every decision is made by one person who uses the apps themselves.

The apps

Luukza is organised into two suites — Learn for language and knowledge tools, and Lifestyle for everyday personal apps. Development started with Lexicon, a vocabulary and language builder, and is expanding from there. See the roadmap for the current state of each app.

All apps are being built natively for iOS first.

Transparency

A public-facing roadmap is available at luukza.com/roadmap. It shows the honest state of what's built and what isn't — this is a solo, long-horizon project, not something racing toward a release date. Luukza is not a venture-backed company racing toward an exit — the goal is a sustainable, long-lived product used by people who genuinely value it.
